Media & Text
The media & text block presents content in two columns, with an image or video in one column and text-based blocks in the other.
Recommended inner blocks include headings, paragraphs, lists, and buttons.
How to Use
- Select Add block and choose Media & Text (under the Layout Elements category).
- The default starting block will provide a space to select or upload media (and image or video) on the left with a paragraph block (set to large font size) on the right.
- Select Upload or Media Library to choose the media element.
- Either start typing in the provided paragraph field (labeled “Content”) or remove it and add a different block of your choosing.
Additional Options
The Media & Text block includes several layout and style variations.
- Media on left or right. You can toggle between showing the media in the first or second column (on the left or right). Select the block and toggle the display in the block toolbar.
- Stack on mobile (recommended). Select this option to allow the two columns to stack on top of each other, forming one column, on narrow screens. Toggle this in the block settings sidebar.
- Crop image to fill entire column. Toggle this in the block settings sidebar to change how much space the image takes up in the media column.
- Background color. Select a different background color from the HRS theme color options. (Make sure to follow the color guidelines.) Choose from the Color settings panel in the block settings sidebar.
- Resize the media column width. You can change the size of the media by selecting the image or video and dragging the middle slider to the left or right.
You can also adjust the alignment (and width) of the Columns block by toggling wide or full alignment in the block toolbar.
